

Claudette was born November 3, 1937 in LaGrange, GA, to Herbert and Elsie Fetner Brumbeloe. Claudette came to Christ at an early age and served Him for her entire life. She was influential in leading many others to Christ.
Claudette was always active in the Christian Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, choir director, pianist, youth leader, and VBS director. She and her late husband, Pert, especially enjoyed serving older church members, visiting and serving them the Lord's Supper.
Claudette worked various jobs during her lifetime, including nurse, bookkeeper, bus driver, substitute teacher, and real estate broker, but career always came second to her family, including her husband and children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren.
Claudette was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Beacher Ernest (Pert) Gillis, and brothers Derward, B.H., Douglas, Edgar, and Kenneth Brumbeloe. She is survived by daughters Jane (Jim) Turpin and Laura (Mark) Bennett, son Ernest (Michelle) Gillis; grandchildren Jason (Michelle) Turpin, Jeffrey (Danielle) Turpin, Jessica (Tyler) Denmeade, Rachel (Chris) Rentz, Leah (Quinten) Johnson, Nicole (Felix) Rios; great-grandchildren Evie and Emma Turpin; Abbie, Caleb, Ezra and Asa Turpin; Hudson and Parker Denmeade; Landon and Noah Rentz; Jaeyoung and Kai Johnson, all of whom were the joy of her later years. She also leaves behind beloved brother-in-law and sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will host a celebration of Claudette's life on Friday, August 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway Snellville, GA 30039, to be followed by a reception and meal at Huaya International Cultural Center, 5224 Buford Highway Atlanta, GA 30340. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to may donate in her memory to Dunamin Mission Society, c/o Ernest Gillis 1567 Hewatt Rd SW Lilburn, GA 30047, for which she served as a board member.
