Doris Wilson Mayer

Doris Wilson Mayer, age 84 of Snellville, GA passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014. She was welcomed in Heaven by her Lord and Savior and greeted with a big hug and a kiss from her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert Raymond Mayer, Sr., who passed away last March. Doris was born on September 17, 1929 in Jefferson County, PA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Doris was a faithful member of Evangel Community Church in Snellville where she enjoyed serving and worshiping the Lord for many years. Doris is survived by a sister, Anna Delduca of West Newton, PA; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Raymond “Ray” and Donna Mayer of Birmingham, AL; daughter and son-in-law, LuAnn and Kendall Osgood of Snellville; grandchildren, Robert R. “Robbie” Mayer, III and his wife Gitta of Talladega, AL, Christopher Andrew “Andy” Mayer and his wife Ashley of Trussville, AL, Misty Mayer Bailey and her husband Heath of Springville, AL, Shelley Osgood Jordan and her husband Mark of Marietta, Kurt William Osgood of Snellville, Stacy Osgood Trammell and her husband Drew of Marietta, Melanie Ann Osgood of Atlanta; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins around the country. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Irene Wilson, a brother, Charles “Chuck” Wilson, three sisters, Lulavale Wilson, Irene “Sissy” Penman, Vera May Swauger, and a grandchild, Brandi Shannon Mayer. Visitation will be from 5-9pm on Monday, January 13, 2014, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. A wonderful mother and grandmother who adored her husband and family, Doris loved traveling and cooking and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
