Eugene A. Bryant

Eugene Adams Bryant, age 94, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. Gene was born in Athens, Georgia, on April 8, 1931, to Osa Williamson Bryant and Clinton B. Bryant. He attended University High School and the University of Georgia in Athens, and Georgia State University in Atlanta, majoring in Transportation. He was employed in transportation for over 40 years and was the Installation Transportation Officer of Fort McPherson/Ft. Gillem at the time of his retirement in 1997. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of American Legion Post #232, a member and past master of Masters Masonic Lodge #295, a member and past president of the Senior Golfers Association of Atlanta, and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA. Gene enjoyed telling jokes and writing funny poems for friends and family in honor of special occasions. He was an avid golfer and a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

Mr. Bryant is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sara Kimsey Bryant, (11/10/25), his mother and father and his two brothers, Billy (Mary) Bryant and Bobby Bryant. He is survived by his two stepdaughters, Joy (David) McBride, and Donna (Mike) Bennett; five grandchildren, Justin (Catherine) Bennett, Steven (Kendra) McBride, John (Angie) McBride, Meredith (Chris) Rea and Jordan (Dayna) Bennett; ten great-grandchildren, Alexis, Paxton, Fisher, Caroline, Livie Joy, CJ, Adlee, Collins, Davis and Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Gene would want you to find ways to add humor and laughter to your life as often as you can. Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin Graham’s ministry, Samaritan’s Purse, https://www.samaritanspurse.org.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am on Monday, January 19, 2026, in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
