Eunice Wilson was born on May 20th 1934 in the Parish of Manchester Jamaica to parents Alan Wilson and Violet Robinson. She was the first girl in the family which brought great joy to her parents and grandparents. She had two older brothers Vinnie and Harry, and younger sisters Ruby, Linnette and Peggy, and two younger brothers Lawrence and Donald.
She attended Mile Gully all age school in the Parish of Manchester. After leaving school she worked in Old Harbour in the Parish of St Catherine.
After spending a few years in St Catherine she then relocated to May Pen Clarendon where Rosalee and John were born. After living in May Pen for a number of years she returned to her place of birth Grove Place in Manchester to care for her ageing parents. She then gave birth to Joan, Miguel and Maurice, and adopted a young lady, Gloria.
She became an active member of The Grove Place Church of God, she sang in the choir and was a member of the women's movement where she was actively involved in the church's outreach program. The outreach program took her to the Mandeville infirmary once a month to serve and cook meals and attend to the other needs of residents. She enjoyed and demonstrated practical Christianity to the less fortunate. She loved to serve.
As her children grew into adulthood and began to have families of their own, Eunice began the role of grandmother. In 1995 She migrated to Kingston to live with her daughter Rosalee and soon after they migrated to the United States of America.
She was active in both the church and senior center when she moved here. She was also the neighborhood nanny. Her life is without question extraordinary. We applaud the tremendous quality and quantity of the great work that is testimony of her life over the past 88 years.
She passed away at home peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She leaves behind her children: Rosalee, John, Joan, Miguel, Maurice, son-in-law: Darren, grandchildren: Porshia, Clive, Shaunakay, Sarah, Kaheel, Malik, Korie, Abbey, Shakia, Justin and Jordina. Grand-son-law: Albert.
Great-grands: Gawayne, Ieshia, and Londyn, Gloria's children and grandchildren. Sister’s Ruby and Peggy, and sister-in-law: Valerie, along with nieces and nephews and other relatives. With acknowledgement to her caregiver Michelle.
