Helene Anna Berry

On the morning of Wednesday, August 6th 2025 Helene Anna (Renner) Berry - lovingly known as “Our Schatzi“ passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in Lithonia Georgia.

Born January 7th 1936 in Odenbach, Germany. She was preceded by her Father Eduard Renner, mother Karolina (Stephan) Renner, sister Elenor (Renner) Martire, brother Ernst Renner, brother Emil Renner, sister Waltraud (Renner) Taneja; and her beloved husband, David Noel Berry. She is survived by her four daughters, Doris (Berry) Fowler, Maria Berry, Carol Berry and Rita Berry, her grandson, William Heath Fowler, her niece Seema Taneja, great-nephews, Andrew and Matthew Taneja; and so many other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.

Helene was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to all. She was generous and kind, yet strong and passionate - a woman who stood up for what she believed in and worked hard all her life. She adored her husband David, building her life around him, and cherished her four girls and her grandson, for whom she would do anything.

She often shared vivid memories of her childhood in Germany during WWII, speaking with great love about her parents and siblings, whom she deeply missed. Helene was a social butterfly who loved meeting new people, making friends, conversing with people, learning new things. She enjoyed singing along to her favorite record, ballroom dancing with David, reading romance novels, playing tennis, swimming and bowling. She had a healthy appetite and never left food on her plate, and spent countless hours tending her garden and pulled up many a weed in her lifetime.

As the matriarch of the family, Helene kept everyone together and safe. Her home - and her heart were always our touchstone. We loved her dearly, and she will be greatly missed.
