Michael was born August 8th, 1981 in sunny Florida. Growing up Myke was the best big brother - helping his sisters with their school work and protecting them as they found their way in the world. Michael graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1999, and attended college at Georgia State University where he sought a psychology degree. He was one semester away from graduation before he began experiencing medical complications.
Michael touched many lives in the 40 years he gave this world. It was hard to not notice him even in a packed room with his contagious smile, handsome looks, and flashy attire (plus he was probably twerking). He was a true Leo in that he was always the center of attention. He loved his life and the people in it. Despite life’s challenges Myke remained positive, reminding us all that the small things are not worth stressing about. Having fun and enjoying life was his priority.
One of Michael’s passions was his dogs. He loved Pepper and Stinky like they were his children. The family has no doubt he is cuddling with them right now, and they welcomed him with lots of hugs and kisses. Myke had rhythm and was an excellent dancer. In his shower studio you could find him blaring Beyoncé, Rihanna, or Britney Spears, while having mini dance sessions to keep his skills sharp.
Michael LOVED food- spending much of his time trying new dishes, dining at the best restaurants, and cooking gourmet meals for his friends and family. Many say he was as good a cook as his mother! (His sisters refute this claim).
Michael was a “material gworl” in every sense of the phrase, indulging in fashion and the latest gadgets and gizmos- often to the detriment of Randi Miller’s wallet! (his ex partner).
Michael is survived by his immediate family - mom and dad Pauline and Bud Johnson, his two younger sisters Grace and Rachael Johnson, his brother Robert McIntosh, and his niece Amoura Bey whom he adored. His extended family includes several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his significant other Nikolas Taggerty. The family will always hold Michael and his memories near and dear to their hearts, until we are reunited again. The most important thing we take away from his passing is to live and love everyday like it’s your last. We love and miss Myke and will keep his spirit close to us forever.
Funeral services for Michael will be held at 9am on Saturday February 5th, 2022 at Eternal Hills Funeral Home in Snellville, Ga. Interment will follow immediately after at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, Ga. Condolences may be mailed to: 1045 Masters Ln., Snellville, Ga 30078.
