Robert L Hamilton Sr.

Mr. Robert Leland Hamilton, age 92, of Hartwell, Georgia passed into eternity on November 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Jean Johnson Hamilton. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law Bobby and Vickie Hamilton (Statham) and Cary and Ellie Hamilton (Lilburn) and David Hamilton(Atlanta); his daughters and son-in-law, Lelia Bailey (Lilburn) and Carrin and Gary Pearce(Fairmount). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christy Hamilton Thomason, Richard Price Hamilton, Heather Bailey Hall and Michael, Will and Ben Hamilton, and 6 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Elaina Thomason, Ella, Vivy and Price Hamilton, and Beckham Hall.

Mr. Hamilton, who was born on August 7, 1925, was the youngest of three boys born to Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Price Hamilton, Birmingham, AL. He married his high school sweetheart, Jean, and they had a wonderful life together. They lived in Birmingham, AL, Dallas, Texas and in Stone Mountain, GA before retiring to their houseboat at the Hartwell Marina on Lake Hartwell where they spent many happy years with friends and family.

Mr. Hamilton was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, 319th Infantry Division, 3rd Army under the command of General George Patton. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and had a long career in sales and manufacturing. Bob was a life long Presbyterian and was a member of Hartwell 1st Presbyterian Church.

Memorial Services will be held on December 9, 2017 between 11:OOam-1:OOpm at the Eternal Hills Chapel, 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039. The family will receive friends from 11:00am¬1:00 pm. The service will begin at 1:00pm.
