

Tamika Lashun Kemp, affectionately known as MeekMeek, was born on August 25, 1981, in Atlanta, Georgia, to her loving parents, Debra Oliver and Frank Kemp. From an early age, Tamika was surrounded by love, faith, and a strong sense of purpose that would guide her throughout her life.
Tamika received her primary education at West Atlanta Elementary School, Miller Grove Middle School, and Washington High School. She continued her academic journey with determination and passion, earning an Associate’s Degree in Education from Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Alabama, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, and a Master’s Degree in Business from DeVry University. Tamika dedicated her life to serving others through education. She began her teaching career in Roanoke, Alabama, and later continued her work in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Her final place of employment was with DeKalb County Schools. Tamika was deeply committed to teaching special needs students of all ages from elementary through high school. Her love for her students was immeasurable, and she poured her heart into ensuring that each child felt valued, supported, and capable. Teaching was Tamika’s dream, and she fulfilled that dream with grace, passion, and purpose. Above all, Tamika cherished her role as a mother. She was the proud and devoted mother of five children, whom she considered her greatest accomplishment. Her children were her entire world, and she embraced motherhood with unconditional love, strength, and joy. Everything she did reflected her deep commitment to their happiness and success. Tamika was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether family, friend, or stranger, she was always ready to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or share a smile. She was truly one of a kind—an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, granddaughter, and friend. To know her was to be blessed A woman of strong faith, Tamika believed deeply in God and the power of prayer. She accepted Christ early in her life and nurtured her relationship with Him daily. She often expressed her faith through writing heartfelt notes to God. Tamika was a devoted member of 12Stone Church and also worshipped at Tabernacle of Faith.
Tamika leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her loving mother, Debra Oliver; her father, Frank Kemp; her sister, Lawana Pace (Eric Pace); her brothers, Frank Kemp (Felicia Kemp), James Kemp, and Kadeem McClusky; her five beloved children, Shuntia Bea (Johnathan Curry), Shaniyah Kemp, Shanice Kemp, Stephen Scott, and Shamirah Scott; her bonus children Nydiyah and Qua Scott her cherished grandchildren, Amaria Riggins and A’mour Curry; and a precious heavenly blessing on the way, Miari. She is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, extended family, and dear friends.
Tamika was preceded in death by her brother, Demarcus Kemp.
Tamika’s legacy is one of love, faith, compassion, and service. Her life touched countless hearts, and her memory will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her. And as she would say with her beautiful spirit and confidence, she will be laid to rest “looking better than Beyoncé.”
