Alan Martin

Born August 26, 1965 in New Britain, the son of Richard and Rita (Whitneck) Martin Sr. of Southington.

Alan was formerly a chef at Apricots of Farmington and was also employed by Yarde Metals of Southington. He was an avid NASCAR Fan and loved to fish.

Besides his parents he leaves three brothers, Dale Martin and wife Bobbye of Plainville, Richard Martin and fiancée Robin Kebernick of Rocky Hill and Craig Martin and wife Tamara of Wallingford; a sister Brenda Thomas and husband Michael of Calhoun, GA; long time girlfriend Giselle; eight nieces and nephews, Dale Jr., Chad, Amber, Allison, Devon, Sara, Meghan and Rebecca; three great nieces and 1 great nephew. He was predeceased by a brother Colby Martin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd. for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
