Alban "Pepper" Charette

WOLCOTT- Alban A. “Pepper” Charette Jr., 63, son of Alban “Chic” and Claire (Smith) Charette of Wolcott passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday June 14, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS unit.

“Pepper” was born on June 29, 1950 in Waterbury, was a lifelong Wolcott resident and graduated from UCONN where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and was a member of the VFW Post 1979 in Wolcott. He retired from C L & P where he worked for over 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing and was a member of Bristol Fish and Game. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Yankees fan.

Besides his parents of Wolcott, he leaves a son Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer Charette of Wolcott, a daughter Stacy and her husband Thomas Begert, a brother Robert and his wife Barbara Charette of Westbrook, a brother Arthur “Ty” and his wife Lori Charette of Wolcott, a sister Leanne and her husband Richard Fallon of Bethany, five grandchildren Alexis and Caiden Charette, Ryan, Alex and Eric Begert, a special Aunt, Irene Caligan of Waterbury, his former spouse Deborah Charette of Bristol, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Wednesday 9:15 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd to St. Pius X Church for a Mass at 10 AM . Burial with military honors will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
