

Albert R. Lank, 82, of Southington passed away on Friday October 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joann (Tonnotti) Lank. Al was born on April 25, 1933 in Eastport, ME, and was the son of the late Daniel and Marion (Nash) Collins.
Al served during the Korean War receiving the Purple Heart along with numerous other medals. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Southington for over 55 years serving as a trustee and was also employed by Gibbs Wire and Steel for over 40 years. He enjoyed going to tag sales and loved woodworking.
He is survived by his 5 children Valerie Rhys (David) of ME, Stephen Lank (Eduardo) Samson of GA, Marianne Dziedzic (Michael Vargas) of Bristol, James Lank (Kim) of Plantsville and William Lank (Tamara) of SC. Al is also survived by a brother Daniel Collins Jr. and his wife Rita of ME and a sister Lavina Goodwin of Southington, his Grandchildren Joshua Dziedzic (Erin), Sarah Dziedzic, John Rhys, Diana Lane ( Nathaniel), Josiah Rhys ( Brooke), Justine Rhys, Olivia Lank, Joshua Garlinger (Jamie) Jessica Gutierrez, and Jared Shedd along with 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Donald Lank.
The Funeral will be held Monday 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will be with Military Honors at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
