He was born Jan. 28, 1920 in New Britain, son of the late Julius and Alma Schwanke. He had retired from Goss and Deleeuw of Kensington.
Mr. Schwanke was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter Robin L Church and her husband John, 2 sons, Kurt A. Schwanke and his wife Diane all of Southington, Clifford Schwanke and is wife Bella of Manchester, a brother Walter Schwanke of Newington and a sister Edie Michalke of Middlefield, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephew
The Funeral will be held Wednesday 1 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. The hour of visitation will be Tuesday from 6-7 p.m.
