Alice Colby

Alice was born in Waterbury, August 13, 1936, daughter of the late James and Alice (Lyons) Brown.

Before moving to Florida 38 years ago, she worked as an LPN at Bristol Hospital. She returned to college in Florida and received her RN degree. She was a charge nurse in the High Risk Perinatal Unit at Plantation General Hospital until she retired.

Alice will be remembered for her love of family, her strength and determination. She enjoyed camping, tennis, and loved to travel with her husband. She enjoyed sports of all kinds and could often be found in the stands cheering on her grandchildren.

Alice leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Cheryl Chasse of Waterbury, Tracey Stallings and her husband, Raymond of Wilmington, NC, four grandchildren, Jesse and Douglas Chasse, Alexis McNamara, and Cole Lightfoot, a great granddaughter Ashlyn Lightfoot, and a sister Kathleen Brennan of Pottstown, PA. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her beloved grandson Richard Pina, and her brothers Peter, John, James and Rev. Vincent Brown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday February 25, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road in Waterbury followed by entombment in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10 AM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott.
