

Angela Monica, daughter of the late Ralph and Julia (Fusco) Yammarino, died peacefully on December 25, 2025, Christmas Day, at the age of 93. Born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, Angela lived there for most of her life and worked as a credit and collection manager for many local businesses.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Angela loved the Church and devoted her life to service and education. She was a lector at St. Pius Church in Middlefield and a volunteer in the CCD program at St. Paul’s School in Kensington. A strong advocate for Catholic education, she worked tirelessly to provide a Catholic school education for her daughters at St. Anthony’s School, St. Stanislaus School, and the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall.
Later in life, Angela moved to Southington to be closer to family, where she served on the Board of Directors of the Southington Housing Authority as Tenant Commissioner, advocating for residents with dedication and compassion.
Angela is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ken Byron of Berlin; her beloved granddaughter, Rebecca (Becca) Byron of Berlin; her niece, Anne Yammarino of Meriden; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marybeth Monica and brothers, Ernest, Anthony and Louis Yammarino.
For the last year and a half of her life, Angela resided at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. Her family is deeply grateful for the love, kindness, and care she received there, and extends heartfelt thanks to the Emergency Department and ICU staff at Bristol Hospital for their extraordinary compassion and care during her final days.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 11:00AM-12:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. A funeral home service will follow at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angela’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
