
Southington- Anthony Peter Wolff of Southington and Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Cheshire, passed away Sunday Sept. 28, 2008 at CT Hospice surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Washington D.C. April 15, 1931, the fifth child and only son of the late Anthony P. Wolff Sr. and Louise Montgomery Wolff. He graduated from Woodward Prep and enlisted in the Army Security Agency serving in Germany during the Korean War. He met the love of his life, Joanne Freeman, while stationed at Ft. Devens, in Ayer, MA. After the war he graduated from the University of MA at Amherst and he and Joanne were married in 1955. They were blessed with five children. His business career was with Uniroyal Chemical where he invented a drum cover for 55 gallon industrial drums for which a U.S. Patent was issued. After retiring from Uniroyal he bought a Pepperidge Farm Franchise and delivered bread for several years before retiring to FL to play golf and travel. He was a ship modeler of excellence and one of his beautiful models is in the Southington, CT Library.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years and his daughters, Julie and her husband Nicholas Lawler of Cape Cod, MA, Jeanne and her husband Mark Ingram of Worcester, MA, his sons Tony Wolff and his friend Hollie of Milford, Joe Wolff and his wife Robin of Yorktown,VA, and John Wolff and his wife Jeanne of Duxbury, MA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his sisters, Marie Deem of Ann Arbor, MI, Teresa Welch of Ocean Pines, MD and Louise Yeatman and her husband Frank of Ft Myers, FL. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Radolinski.
He had been a parishioner of St. Dominic Church.
Tony was a person who loved life and lived every day with zest and enthusiasm. We will miss him greatly.
The Funeral will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd. for a mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be Friday held at St Thomas Cemetery at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd.,Branford, CT 06405 or the Yale Cancer Center, 333 Cedar St. P.O.
