Arthur E. Gaudet

Southington - Arthur E. Gaudet, 72, of Zwick's Farm Rd., Plantsville section of Southington died suddenly Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Constance Iasiello Gaudet.

Born October 26, 1935 in Meriden a son of the late Albert and Irene (Shirley) Gaudet.

Arthur was a graduate of HC Wilcox Technical School in 1954. He served with the US Marine Corp as a Corporal from 1954 - 1958. In 1996 he retired from New Departure Hyatt a division of General Motors after 40 years of service, was an International Appointee for Benefits representative, and trustee for Retiree Chapter of UAW Local 626. Arthur also served as treasurer of the Bristol Federal Credit Union, member of the Southington Planning and Zoning Committee, and Calendar House Board. Most currently, Arthur worked as a crossing guard for Derynoski School.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Edward J. Gaudet and his wife Diane of Hanover, MA, Robin Kalanquin and her husband Steven of Milton, FL, and Mark Gaudet and his wife Erin of Enfield; 9 grandchildren, Shawn, Jennifer, Michael, Katie, Lauren, Evan, Emmalie, Madison and Avery and a great granddaughter Madalynn; a sister Shirley Carroll of Wallingford; 3 brothers William Gaudet of San Diego, CA, Robert Gaudet of Meriden and Peter Gaudet of Bristol; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Charles.

Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations in Arthur's memory may be made to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Drive Wallingford, CT 06492.
