

Arthur Rich, 73, of Southington passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 after a courageous battle with Covid-19 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of Jan (Head) Rich. They would’ve celebrated their 52nd wedding Anniversary in September.
Art was born in New Britain on May 13, 1946, the son of the late Dominic and Mary (Oldoni) Rich. He graduated from E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain in 1965. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. In 1970, he opened his photography studio in Southington and became a well-known wedding and school photographer through-out the region. He has been a long-time member of the CTPPA (Connecticut Professional Photographers Association). Throughout his career he received many awards and accolades as well as a master’s in photography and the prestigious life time achievement award.
He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, boss and friend. He was a man of integrity, honor and a pillar of the community. He was extremely generous and gave back to the community as well as anyone in need. He had a zest for life and could never sit still even in “retirement”. He loved spending time with his family and friends just hanging by the pool or riding his Harley. He had an adventurous spirit and lived life to the fullest.
In addition to his wife Jan, he is survived by his children Gina Rich and her fiancée David Shaffer, Angel Rich and her fiancée Bob Borkowski, Tiffany and Jason Rich all of Southington, 8 grandchildren Nicholas L’Heureux and fiancée Tara Kearney, Matthew L’Heureux and wife Amber, Nathan L’Heureux, Zachary, Olivia and Lola Zakreta, Anthony Ziegler and fiancée Sara Karzian and Amanda Ziegler and a great grandson Colt Karzian-Ziegler. He also leaves his sister Louise Jardine of Southington, brother-in-law’s David Sheehan and wife Chris and Daniel Sheehan all of Lockport, New York. Several nieces and nephews as well as his long-time childhood friends Clifford Saucier and Jimmy Fournier.
Due to the Corona Pandemic services and burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.
