

She was born on Aug. 3, 1932 in Worcester, MA, the daughter of the late Richard and Eva (DesRoches) Routier. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Southington Savings Bank. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and a member of the Calendar House, the YMCA Seniors and AARP. Barbara enjoyed quilting and traveling; she was an avid Red Sox and UCONN women’s basketball fan and loved playing cards on Sundays with her friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Lauren C. Hurley and husband William, Pamela Dyson and husband Brian all of Southington, Katherine R. Christopher and Michael Rapini of Clinton and James J. Christopher Jr. and wife Demetra of Terryville and many grandchildren and great grand-children as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a brother Robert Routier of Vermont, a sister, Paula Routier and her partner Kathleen Martell of Wakefield, MA, two sisters-in-law,Dolores Donna of Southington Noreen Routier of Hanover, MA.
She was predeceased by her brother Richard Routier and a sister-in-law Patricia Sroka.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. at 10:30 am. Burial will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 pm.
