Barry Kirby

Barry was born on August 25, 1955 in Hartford, son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Oppelt) Kirby. For the last three years, he has been employed at Beacon Sales in Hartford. Barry has also worked for the former Hartford Roofing Company in Glastonbury for over 15 years. Barry was a big hearted person who loved his family and his Lord. He greatly enjoyed making people laugh. He loved playing golf and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed music, considered himself a ?parrot head?, and was looking forward to the upcoming Radiators concert.

Besides his wife of 26 years, Barry is survived by his son Ben Kirby and Kimberley Ulett of Plainville, a brother Donald Kirby and his wife Debbie of New York, a sister Carol Petersen and her husband Arthur of Pennsylvania, and countless nieces and nephews. He deeply loved and will be greatly missed by Rita?s brother and sisters. Besides his parents, Barry was predeceased by his nephew Tim Petersen, brothers-in-law Ray Guimond and Doug Stears with whom he was very close.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate Barry?s life at 3 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 1 PM until the start of the service.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
