Bertha Morelli

Bertha (Beausoleil) Morelli, 94, loving wife, mother and sister passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Leonard J. Morelli. Bertha was born in Waterbury on February 21, 1924, to Henry and Leonise Rose (Lagasse) Beausoleil.

As one of 14 children, Bert loved spending time with her family. She helped to cultivate a strong sense of commitment to family, which was returned by devoted nieces and nephews. Independent and astute, Bert worked as a comptometer operator for Yankee News in the 1960s. She was also a member of the family’s long-running Tuesday Sewing Club and enjoyed quilting.

In addition to her husband Lenny of 65 years, Bert is survived by her son, Leonard A. Morelli and his wife Nancy of Cheshire, brother Roger and his wife Joan Beausoleil of Meriden, and grandchildren Joseph and Kathleen Morelli. She also leaves behind numerous extended family and loving friends throughout the city of Waterbury.

Calling hours will be on Sunday Jan. 27, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at Saint Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at 2324 E Main St., Waterbury.
