

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on May 24, 1949, she was raised in Manchester spending every summer camping at Hammonasset Beach State Park with her family. Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Margaret Wahnquist, and her sister, Janet Wahnquist Tierney.
She is survived by a son, the love of her life, Jeffrey Landin Gonzalez; her brother, Harvey (Janet) Wahnquist; several Gonzalez family members to include several nieces and nephews; five Tierney nieces and their families, and a Wahnquist niece and nephew and their families.
Cindy graduated from Manchester High School class of 1967, then went on to earn an LPN license from Hartford Hospital's School of Nursing. Her career started at Stanley Works in corporate administration. Her second career was teaching at Redstone Hill Nursery School, her true love. Cindy‘s ultimate joy was being Jeff’s mom, and being a friend to his friends, whom she referred to as “My Boys”. After her retirement, she cemented her relationships with old dear friends while forming new ones, such as “The Church Ladies”.
Cindy will be remembered for her kindness, her love of children, and the best apple pies ever! The earthly journey is complete. Rest in peace dear Cindy.
A period of visitation will be held on Sunday June 8, 2025 from 11am-1pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington.
