Cynthia M. “Cindy” Krezel, 79, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her home, with her loving husband, Richard, by her side. She was the beloved wife of Attorney Richard M. Krezel.
Born on August 31, 1946, in Torrington, Connecticut Cindy was the daughter of the late Marshall S. Adorno and the late Helyn Dlugoleski Adorno of Torrington, Connecticut.
Cindy was a partner with her husband in the commercial real estate rental and management company known as 100 Queen Street Associates. She was also the accounts payable manager in her husband’s law firm known as Krezel Law Associates and over the years served in many and varied capacities in his law office. She was a paraprofessional in the very first all-day kindergarten at Saint Dominic School and later volunteered and served as co-president of the St. Dominic Parents’ Association. She was a longstanding member of the Pointina Beach Association of Westbrook and enjoyed countless summers at her second home at Pointina Beach. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Dominic Church and had served as a director of the Central Connecticut Unit of the American Cancer Society.
Cindy attended Sacred Heart School in Torrington, Connecticut and was a graduate of Putnam Catholic Academy in Putnam, Connecticut and Chandler School for Women in Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her husband of 57 years she is survived by her son, David M. Krezel, of Bristol, Connecticut, sister, Celeste Salinas of Orange Park, Florida, her very special first cousin, Dr. Andrew Sokolik, of Torrington, Connecticut and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Adorno, Walter Adorno, and Robert Adorno.
Cindy will be remembered for her sunny disposition and positive attitude always being more concerned about the welfare of others before herself. She was a remarkable global thinker with natural business and investment instincts.
Cindy was diagnosed with acute myloid leukemia in January, 2025 and endured the rigors of chemotherapy and the inevitable medical complications in the ensuing months. She was extremely grateful for the kindness and compassion of the infusion nurses and phlebotomists at the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at UConn Health Center who were like her family. In the final stage of her illness she received round the clock home care from home care aides provided by Hartford Health Care Independence at Home each of whom were extraordinary in their devotion to keeping her comfortable. Fatima, Veronica, Ava, and Mercy made her transition pain free, merciful, and dignified.
Memorial donations in Cindy’s memory can be offered to the American Cancer Society and the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at UConn Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut.
