Deborah Lynn Moss passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2025. Born in Southington, Connecticut on September 9, 1953, Debbie was a larger-than-life character who combined a sharp wit with a kind heart and a fierce loyalty to those she loved. She graduated from Southington High School in the Class of 1971.
Debbie was the cherished only child of David and Rose Angelone, both of whom predeceased her. She lost her beloved husband, Steven Moss in 2007. Despite these profound losses, she continued to live a full life, centered around her dedication to her career, her friends and the passions she enjoyed.
Her professional journey led her to Bloomingdale's/Macy’s, where she worked for 35 years, most recently as a Control Office Coordinator. In this role, Debbie truly thrived. She often expressed her love for her customers, saying that her position allowed her to help them in meaningful ways. Her job was also the source of life-long friendships, too numerous to list, where colleagues became family.
Debbie’s life was enriched by a variety of interests that brought her immense joy. She had a particular fondness for the color pink, which was a true reflection of her vibrant personality. She was an avid fan of The Miami Dolphins and loved Elvis Presley. Debbie’s love and dedication to the sport of auto racing was second to none, the loyalty and support of her Racing Families and friends was unwavering. For decades nothing stood in her way of going to the racetrack where she loved to take care of her teams and support her guys and was never afraid to get dirty.
While she was not known for her culinary skills, she was always ready to go to restaurants, where she especially loved desserts. Another favorite activity was going to the casinos with her cousins and friends. Deb loved to travel especially on cruises with the girls!! These trips were filled with laughter and camaraderie and created cherished memories for all of them.
Debbie was not fond of Connecticut’s harsh winters – Over the last few years right after the holidays, she would be off for a month or longer, to bask in the sunshine on a cruise or at an island. And though her friends are heartbroken over her sudden loss, they have to smile knowing that she left this world doing something that she loved.
Her legacy is one of love, friendship, and an unyielding spirit that was both tough and tender. She touched the lives of many with her actions. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, Debbie. We will never forget you.
Friends and relatives may pay final respects to Debbie on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 5-7PM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St, Southington, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Junction Camp, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317, (victoryjunction.org). Burial will be private.
