Dorothea R. Bobinski

Dorothea (Redente) Bobinski, 84, of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved widow of the late Leonard E. Bobinski Sr. for 45 years. Dorothea was born on July 29, 1939 in New Britain and was the daughter of the late Fred and Phyllis (Andruszkiewicz) Redente.

Dotty was valedictorian of her graduating class at Emmanuel College in Boston and was employed by Quest Diagnostics until her retirement. An active parishioner of St. Dominic’s Church, Dotty was a former Parish Council member and volunteer. A dancer throughout her life, she was invited to be a Radio City Rockette and was a member of the Bucks and Does Square Dance Club. Dotty was a longtime volunteer at HOCC at New Britain General Gift Shop, a member of her local Red Hat Society, and an avid card player at the Southington Senior Center and Austrian Club in New Britain.

Dotty is survived by her two children, Leonard E. Bobinski Jr and his wife Amy of West Simsbury and Donna Fontano and her husband, Michael of Southington; four grandchildren, Justin, Lenny, Megan and Skyler; a sister Felicia Favorito and her husband John of Johns Island, SC. She was predeceased by her daughter Lynn Bobinski and a brother Robert Redente.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 9 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
