

Edith was born on October 27, 1918 to Josephine Landrette and Cuno Trotta, the youngest of seven, and was predeceased by her six siblings: brothers Frank and Tony: sisters Philomena Rossi, Amelia Rungi, Eleanor DellaVecchia, and Monica Milne.
In 1938, Edith met John: they courted at the big band concerts at Lake Compounce, married on May 13, 1940 and then spent nearly 71 years dancing together through life.
Edith will be fondly remembered for her delicious cooking and baking, her love of jokes, and beautiful smile.
Edith leaves behind daughter Deborah and her husband Angelo Campagnano of Burlington CT, daughter-in-law Barbara Grasso of Kensington CT, two cherished granddaughters, Gabrielle and Angelina, and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to longtime neighbors and friends, Tony and Julie Massucci, for all the help and support given to the Grasso family over many years.
Edith will be loved, missed, and held in memory by all.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
