

Born in Waterbury on April 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Edmond M. and Elizabeth A.(Seymour) Longo. He graduated from Kaynor Tech High School in 1958 and served in the US Army. He was a progressive tool and die maker retiring from Waterbury Buckle Co where he worked for over 20 years. He was a lifelong Wolcott resident taking pride in his self built home detailed with unique fieldstone walls. He enjoyed fishing, camping and wintered in Lake Placid, FL.
Besides his devoted wife of 57 years, he is survived by his children Michael Longo of Branford, Lori (Longo) and her husband Joseph LaRosa of Meriden, Stephen Longo of East Hampton, Tracie (Longo) and her husband Robert Geary of Wolcott, four sisters, Joan Kane of Wolcott, Sue and her husband Peter Koeller of Waterbury, Marie and her husband Tom Lamm of Annapolis, MD, Sandy and her husband David Merrill of Waterbury, a sister-in-law Bernice Longo of Wolcott, his grandchildren, Joseph, Hilary, and Abigayle LaRosa, Jessika, Jamie and Gannon Geary, Alissa and Amanda Longo and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Edmond Longo Jr. a brother Vincent Longo.
His life will be celebrated with a Mass on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church 525 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
