Ernest G. Blaney Sr.

Ernest George Blaney Sr., 78, of Southington was called home to be with God and his loving wife and best friend, Rachel (Chapman) Blaney on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 while surrounded by his loving children.

Born July 26, 1944 in Calais, ME he was the son of the late Alfred and Phyllis (Sherman) Blaney.

Ernest was a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving with the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. He was a welder for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 30 years until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, listening to Cajun and country music, watching WWE Wrestling and UCONN basketball and building model airplanes.

He is survived by his children, Ann-Marie DeLuco and fiancé Daniel Lee of Canton, Sandra Angelillo and husband David Sr. of Burlington and Ernest Blaney Jr. and wife Dina of Cromwell; five grandchildren, April Carr, Alexander Carr, Sarah Blaney, Ashley DeLuco and Ryan Blaney; two step-grandchildren, Brianna Bourlogiannis and husband Thanasi and David Angelillo Jr. and wife Samantha; five great grandchildren, Nimson, Jameson, Darian, Yanni and Iliana; his sister Rosalie Paisley of Canada, several in-laws including Norman Chapman a fellow Veteran from whom he met Rachel, the love of his life, and nieces and nephews, and his beloved fur baby Cinnamon.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Richard, Gerald, Gary and James and a sister, Sandra Mains, also brother in-laws Reginald Chapman, Ernest Van Hyning, Robert Lenz, Nicholas Misenti and nephew Richard Jukonski.
