
Southington- Ethel (McNamara) Devlin Bush, 95, formerly of 6 Carter Lane, Plantsville section, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Masonic Health Center in Wallingford. She was the widow of Gilbert Bush and Thomas Devlin.
Born in New Haven on June 12, 1912 the daughter of the late Carroll and Agnes (Dwyer) McNamara. She graduated from St. Mary?s Academy and St. Raphael's School of Nursing. After graduating from Nursing School, she was chosen by Dr. Wm. F. Verdi, Chief of Staff of the Hospital of St. Raphael to be his personal surgical nurse. Upon the death of her husband Thomas, she returned to work at Bradley Memorial Hospital and Ridgewood Convalescent Home.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and John Marenholz, of Southington. Patricia and John Rechi, Orange, Michele and Mark Winne of Suffield and Lou Ann and Paul Ferla of Avon, 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Kolpak, Jill Possidento, John Marenholz Jr. Megan Clapp, Caitlin Rechi, Allyson and Matthew Winne and Abby and Jessica Ferla and 4 great-grandchildren, Jack, Eleni and Hunter Kolpak and Sofia Possidento a sister Joan McCarthy of Bonita Springs, FL, two brothers Raymond McNamara of Mount Vernon, NY and William McNamara of Longmeadow, MA. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Masonic Health Care Center, especially the staff of Ramage 6 for their tender and loving care of Ethel over the past 6 years.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate her wonderful life will be celebrated on Wednesday March 26, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders St. Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Ethel Devlin Bush Memorial Recreational Fund, c/o Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, P.O.
