

She graduated from Wilby High School and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Connecticut State University. She worked at Joann Fabrics and was a secretary at Waterbury Hospital and Bradley Memorial. Ethel was active at the now closed Kol Ami Synagogue where she held various board positions and was a lifetime member of Hadassah. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, knitting, beading, etc. Using her talent, she crocheted lap blankets for her fellow residents at the Summit at Plantsville where she resided.
Ethel is survived by her sister Susan Peterson and her husband John of Plantsville and her niece Melissa Peterson and her husband Sean Roper of Bristol. She was predeceased by her brother Bruce.
A visitation for Ethel will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489 followed by a celebration of life to begin at 1:30 at the funeral home.
