

Born in Waterbury on May 30, 1922 he was the youngest and last living child of the late Silvio and Rose (Bernier) Deschenes. He was raised in Waterbury and has resided in Southington for the last 45 years. He was proud to serve in the US Army during WWII.
Since 1963 he has been the president and owner of Jerry?s Service Station in Seymour. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, enjoyed traveling, music and was a life-long parishioner of St. Anne Church.
Besides his wife of 67 years, he is survived by a son Jerry and his wife Judy Deschenes of Prospect, a daughter Marilyn Descoteaux of Southington, four grandchildren John Deschenes, Sr.,Donald Descoteaux Jr., Callie Deschenes, Michelle Descoteaux, six great grandsons, John Jr. Zachary, Timothy, Christopher, Joseph and Tayden, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Thursday 9 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott to the Shrine of St. Anne for a Mass at 10 AM. Entombment with military honors will be in the Garden Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.
