Janet Cekovsky

Born in New Haven on November 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Camille (Formichella) Russo. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, CT and Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA, earned a Masters in Math Education from Boston College and taught at schools in MA and CT. She also enjoyed tutoring students in Math out of her home. She was a Southington resident for 34 years and an active parishioner at St. Thomas Church. Her greatest joys were her husband, her children, her grandchildren and spending summer weeks in Nantucket, MA sitting on the beach with her toes in the water.

Besides her husband of 35 years, she is survived by her children Anthony and his wife Charlene Cekovsky of Middletown, Richard and his wife Jacqueline Cekovsky of Brooklyn, NY, William and his wife Kelly Cekovsky of Prospect, Valerie Cekovsky and her boyfriend Tyler Smith of Boston, MA, three grandchildren Amber Sekoll, Andrew and Myla Cekovsky, a sister Diane and her husband Robert Bixler of Irmo, SC, a step sister Elisa Bernardo of Vail, CO, and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her dog Tucket and three granddogs Lola, Bentley and Chimes.

Funeral will be Tuesday 9:15 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church for Mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
