

Born in Waterbury on November 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Gorman) Frageau. She was a parishioner of St. Leo The Great Church, a member of their choir and bingo player. She was also active at the Wolcott Senior Center.
Joan is survived by her three children Patrick Carmody, Nancy and her husband Skip Jannetty all of Waterbury, Peter and his wife Gina Carmody of Wolcott, and a sister Mary Hanlon of Wolcott. Especially close to her heart were her five grandchildren, Heather and her husband Edward Youle of Southington, Peter Carmody Jr. and his wife Alison of Middlebury, Joseph Carmody of NY City, Christopher Carmody of Wolcott, Rachel Carmody of Southington, and her four great grandchildren Taylor and Emma Youle of Southington, Katelyn and Ella Carmody of Middlebury. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by an infant son Brian Arthur Carmody, four brothers and four sisters.
Joan’s family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and VITAS for their compassionate care.
Funeral will be Wednesday 10:15 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott to St. Leo The Great Church for Mass at 11 AM. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery.
