John Michael Burke

Born July 29, 1971 in Waterbury he was the beloved son of John J. and Barbara Burke of Waterbury.

John received his Associates Degree from the Univ. of New Haven. He was the manager of the Hospitality Dept. at Waterbury Hospital. He practiced Buddhism, belonging to the Buddhist Monastery in Woodstock, NY and West Hartford. He was passionate about music and played the guitar and at one time had his own band. John was a sports enthusiast; he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Yankees. He took great pride in assisting with coaching the boys various sports.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was the loving father of Jacob Miles and Nathan Daniel. He also leaves a brother, Eugene Joseph Burke and wife Cheryl of Naugatuck; a cousin Garrett Burke; mother-in-law, Justine T. LeVasseur and George Paul Hagist, a sister-in-law, Jeanne LeVasseur. He was predeceased by a brother, James Burke, USAF.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A final gift of love was given by John Michael's family through tissue donation.
