John Doty

Southington- John M. Doty, 81 of 137 Mt. Vernon Rd. Plantsville section, passed away on Friday July 28, 2006, peacefully at home in the company of his beloved wife Phyllis R. (Sutter) Doty and his family.

Born on June 6 1925 the son of the late James and Charlotte Doty. John was a naval veteran of WWII and served his town as a policeman for several years. He owned Doty?s Texaco for many years. He loved helping people and lived a caring and thoughtful life always willing to help anyone who needed his assistance.

He will always be remembered by his children, Robert, Richard and his wife Susan, Paul and his wife Kathy, all of Southington, as well as Russell and his wife Charlene of Plymouth and Pamela and her husband Allen French of Harwinton. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kristen and her husband Michael Kloster and their children Cade and Rachael, Loryn and Stephen Lawton and their son Reese, Jason and Jennifer Doty and their son?s Jonathan and Zachary, Jessica and her husband Paul Weske, Isaac and his fiance Kerry Meehan, Russell Doty and his wife Angel, Nathan Doty, Prudence Doty, Emily French and Maxwell French and many nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his sister Charlotte and her husband Dexter Mobbs and a grand-daughter Alison Doty.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 4 p.m. at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 99 Church St. Plantsville, There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. are handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations may be in his memory to the Alison Doty Scholarship Fund, c/o Southington High School, 720 Pleasant St. Southington, CT 06489 or a charity of the donor?s choice.
