
Born Nov. 16, 1925 in New Britain, the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (D’Angelo) Nardi. He was a WWII Veteran, who served in the South Pacific. John retired form Ideal Forge Corp in 1991.
He had a love of music and was always seen playing his mandolin with his fellow piasan’s Dom Mongillo, Joe Casale and Duffy Panella. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Barbara Alfano and husband Joseph of Southington, Sandy Hubeny and husband Fran of Wolcott, Robert Nardi, Judy Parillo and husband Tony all of Southington, 7 cherished grandchildren, Joseph Alfano Jr.and his fiance Alisha, Todd Alfano and wife Heather, Brenda Malachowski and husband Justin, Brooke Cyr and husband Michael, Stacy Gorman and husband Jim, Derek Hubeny and Taylor Parillo, and 2 great grandchildren, Aiden Alfano and Kylee Gorman, sisters Jeannie Meola and Beatrice Sakellarios and her husband George, sister-in-law Leatrice Nardi Benoit.
He was predeceased by a brother Arthur Nardi a sister Josephine LaPorte and his brothers-in-law, Andrew LaPorte and James Meola.
The Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Dominic Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will military honors will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-8 p.m.
