
He was born Nov. 14, 1938 son of the late Dominic and Maria (D’ Onofrio) Maccio. He had worked as an electronic technician for SNET retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Maccio was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Korean War as a IC2-2nd class petty officer serving on the USS Forretstall and the USS Ranger in the Atlantic and Pacific. He was a former member of the American Legion and the Telephone Pioneers and a parishioner of St. Thomas Church. He enjoyed watching golf ,was a fan of the UCONN Girls basketball team and the NY Yankees.
He is survived by 2 brothers, Dominic “Anthony” Maccio of Plantsville and John Maccio of Southington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward Maccio Sr. and Raymond Maccio and sisters Mary Orzech and Philomena Feola.
The Funeral will be held Tuesday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be with Military honors at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 p.m.
