
He was born May 2, 1923 in Randolf, VT son of the late John H. Sr. and Lillian (Miller) Williams. He served our country, twice during wartime in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1951. The last 32 years of his life he resided in Old Lyme and worked as a security guard and also a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed making models and stamp collecting.
He leaves 2 children, Victoria Plourde and her husband Bruce of Bristol and Michael Williams of Plantsville, 4 stepchildren, John DiNello and his wife Betty of Milldale, Victor DiNello and his wife Sylvia of Lady Lake, FL, Linda Leroux and her husband Jay of Old Lyme and Cathy Bell of Southington. He leaves 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Alan Williams.
The family thanks the staff of Mary Elizabeth Nursing Center in Mystic for their kindness and love shown to Joseph during his stay there.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to honor Hal’s memory, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Faith Living Church 20 Grove St., Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington is assisting with arrangements.
