Julia Caroline Sharp

She was born on Sept. 25, 1933 in Plainville, the daughter of the late Harry and Amy (Josephson) LaGoy.

She is survived by a loving daughter and best friend, Patricia Caroline and her husband Richard Hill a grandson, Robert J. Hill all of Plantsville, a sister-in-law Nancy LaGoy of Canton. She was predeceased by a brother Robert LaGoy.

Mom was very active in the community, doing multiple projects all of the time to help people in need. Mom and I shared many of these together, her helping me with my projects and me with hers, we share a love of music and dance and in the earlier years often worked together on Shows as well as TV Advertising. Mom was a strong, focused business woman by day and a partner in our family business, Sharp's Nursery. Mom, Dad and I spent more than 50 years growing and selling landscaping and produce at 473 Prospect Street in Plantsville . One would never know that by looking at Mom's stylish mode of dress, wearing clothes often designed and made by her. Mom was a nature lover whose desire was to live her final years at the Nursery with its unique animals. She referred to them as the Critters. Her favorite community projects involved the Southington YMCA, United Way, The Chamber of Commerce to name just a few. She was a Southington Leading Lady as well as a YMCA Unsung Hero. She was embarrassed to be recognized for what she did for so many others.

The Hill family expresses thanks to the fine caregivers at Bradley Hospital, The Summit and New Britain General Hospital. At every level, these fine folks provided us with the tools to make very hard decisions and the strength to carry out Mom's final wishes per her Living Will.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at Quinnipiac Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
