June L. McCarthy

She was born May 22, 1929 in Torrington the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Graham) Hotchkiss. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1951 and retired from Meridian Manor in 1994. She enjoyed traveling, getting her nails done, reading, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Barrett and late husband John of Middlebury, Robert McCarthy and wife Elizabeth of Waterbury, Diane McCarthy-Shields of Plantsville and Peg Altschuler and husband Donald of Wallingford. She also leaves her grandchildren, Gary (Jill), Michael (Jess), Meghan (Doug) Timothy, Sean (Kari) Meg, Sarah, Daniel and four great grandsons. She also leaves behind her cherished caregiver Mary Hammond of Waterbury. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Michelle Barrett.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St. Plantsville.There are no calling hours.Burial will be at New St. Joseph Cemetery in Waterbury.
