Lena Carbone

Plainville-Lena (Fusco) Carbone, 86, formerly a resident of Milldale for over 50 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the home of her daughter Kathy Sisson surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Alfred R. Carbone.

Born February 4, 1926 in Cheshire, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Brigida (Pastore) Fusco.

Lena was a founding member of St. Aloysius Church and a devoted Bingo worker from the beginning until 3 weeks ago. Family was everything to Lena, she was a true matriarch of her family. The family would like to thank HCC at New Britain General staff on C-5, Meghan, Sarah, Rachael, Jessica, Nellie and Fernando. They would also like to thank Sam from VNA and Claudia her overnight Nurse.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Sisson and husband John of Plainville and Gloria Carbone and husband Gary McCaughey of Lexington, SC; a daughter-in-law, Jody (Carbone) Ricker of Spring, TX; two brothers, Michael Fusco of Wolcott and Victor Fusco of Cheshire; three sisters, Mary Perugini and Anna Perugini both of Waterbury and Emma Dalfino of Bristol; five grandchildren, Paul Sisson and wife Amanda of Bristol, Marc Sisson and Danica Caruso of Bristol, Karyn Sisson and Mark Wyskiel of Bristol, Adam Carbone and wife Devony of Southington and Kerri Hansen and husband Robert of Huntington, TX; four great grandchildren, Taylor and Landon Sisson,Robbie and Will Hansen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Alfred J. Carbone and brothers Daniel and Umberto Fusco.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CT VNA Hospice, 205 West Main St., New Britain, CT 06052.
