Born on May 11, 1949, in Southington, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Alfred and Santina (Carpentier) Testa. A proud lifelong resident of the town she loved, Linda graduated from Southington High School and earned an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Assistant from Briarwood College. She went on to dedicate her career to helping others, working for many years at the former Bradley Memorial Hospital, where she served as a compassionate patient representative in the Women’s Center. Her warmth, strength, and empathy touched countless lives during her time there.
Linda’s greatest joy came from her family. She shared 57 years of devoted marriage with her husband, John (David) Kania, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Kania of Bristol; her son, William Kania, and his wife Marci; and her cherished granddaughters, Samantha and Rebecca of Plantsville.
She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Testa, and his wife, Maria; her sister-in-law, Theresa Badgley; and her nephew, Jason Testa, and his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children. In addition, Linda is survived by a large group of lifelong friends, including Joe and Molly Nemec and many others, whom she adored and who supported her faithfully throughout her illness.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Santina Testa; her brother-in-law, Roger Badgley; and her beloved niece, Pamela Badgley.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, resilient spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Whether spending time with her grandchildren, crafting heartfelt gifts, or filling the kitchen with the comforting aroma of her baking, Linda brought light and love to every moment, while her smile was effortlessly contagious.
Her family would like to thank the caregivers and medical team at UConn Health’s Carole and Ray NEAG Comprehensive Cancer Center for their support throughout Linda's illness. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
