
Margaret Mary (Carey) Vance of Southington, formerly of Waterbury, died December 26, 2007. Margaret was born on June 6, 1923. Beloved wife of William Bernard Vance, daughter of the late Cecilia V. (Cronen) Carey and John L. Carey.
Peg and Bill were married on July 6, 1946 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year with a large gathering of friends and family. She was the adored mother of William and his wife Shirley of Madison, James and his wife Sara of Coventry, Stephen and his wife Judith of Riverside, Robert of State College, Pennsylvania, Raymond and his wife Rita of Alpharetta, Georgia and Sheila Molaver and her husband Jonathan of Southington. Cherished grandmother of nine: Heather Rittman of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Colleen Tavano of Glastonbury, Sara Varney of Wethersfield, Lauren Tebbe of Ridgefield, Christopher Vance of Framingham, Massachusetts, Michael Vance of Macon, Georgia, Stephanie Vance of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Alex and Daniel Molaver, both of Southington. Devoted great grandmother to eight.
A caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Peg had a natural gift for bringing family together. Until recent years Peg and Bill spent their winters in West Palm Beach, Florida where in a short time her natural friendliness earned her many new friends and afforded the opportunity to enjoy visits from her loving family. Through her last days she never lost her natural grace and good humor. She will be in our hearts forever. The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
