Maria C. Conti

Maria C. (Sorace) Conti, 83, of Cromwell and a longtime former resident of Southington, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Conti.

Born on February 20, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, Maria was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Brogoli) Sorace. She was self-employed in the real estate industry for many years.

Maria enjoyed playing cards, reading, wine and arts & crafts. She had a contagious smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family."

She is survived by her three children, Salvatore Conti and his wife Audrey of Southington, Maria Nelson and her husband Scott of Southington, and Nicholas Conti of Berlin; her seven grandchildren, Sal Jr. and his fiancée Emily Cohen , Alana and her fiancé Brendan Formanski, Jessica and her husband Kieran, Ashley and her husband Andrew, Ryan and his wife Kateryna, Nick Jr., and Joey; her brother, Edward Sorace and his wife Mary of New Jersey; her sister, Joanne Pehlivanian and her husband John of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
