

She was born August 12, 1909 in Yalesville daughter of the late Vincent and Immaculata (Nesti) DeMaria. She grew up in Meriden and later settled in Southington. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking for her whole family, as well as gardening, sewing and traveling with her husband. She was able to laugh up to her last days.
She had worked for the former Allied Control for many years and was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church.
She leaves 2 daughters Carmela Carabetta and her husband George Sr. of Meriden, Mary Fasulo of Old Saybrook and formerly of Southington, 7 grandchildren, George Carabetta Jr., David Carabetta, Francine Nigro, Ralph Nigro Jr., Pamela Nigro, Patricia Boissonneault and Michael Fasulo, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ralph Nigro Sr. and his wife Alma, her son-in-law James D. Fasulo, and 3 great grandchildren and 3 brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cocomo for their loving care and kindness for the past 17 years.
The Funeral will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor?s choice.
