Southington- Marie (Simone) Atwater, 81, of Southington, died on Wednesday, after a courageous and brave battle on March 16, 2011 at HCC at New Britain General. She was the beloved wife of the late Dwight P. Atwater.
She was born in Southington on Sept. 5, 1929, the daughter of the late Domenic and Vincenza (Testa) Simone.
Marie was a great cook, enjoyed crocheting but most of all her family was her greatest joy in life.
Sbe is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Susan and Pasquale Giano with whom she made her home, 2 cherished granddaughters, Kristina Giano of Switzerland and Kaitlyn Giano of Southington a brother John Simone of FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Robert Simone.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
