

WOLCOTT- Marie (Mecca) Cosgriff, passed away peacefully on Friday January 12, 2018, the day after her 88th birthday at the VITAS unit in St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Lee F. Cosgriff Sr.
Born in Waterbury on January 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Anna (Accousti) Mecca. She had worked as a bookkeeper at WATR radio and was an assistant with former probate judge James Lawlor. She moved to Wolcott in 1955 where she and Lee raised their two sons. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church. She enjoyed duckpin bowling in the leagues at Perrillos, and going on chartered bus trips.
Marie leaves two sons Keith Cosgriff with whom she lived in Wolcott, Lee and his wife Linda Cosgriff of Lebanon, NH, four grandchildren Karrie Cosgriff of Hartford, VT, Robby and his wife Amanda of Guilderland, NY, Mathew Cosgriff of Dallas, TX, Airman Keith R. Cosgriff Jr.of the USS John C. Stennis, six great grandchildren, Mesa, Terran, Aanan, Kade, Layla and Owen, and sisters-in-law Rebecca Reardon of Oakville and Dolores Mecca of Hebron,CT. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her siblings James , Gertrude and Nicholas Mecca.
Marie’s family would also like to thank her caregivers Joyce and Kateri Denay.
Calling hours are Saturday Morning from 9 to 10:30am at DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott, followed by Mass at St. Pius X Church at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
