Marie J. DeAngelis

She was born in Southington on August 21, 1948 the daughter of the late Rosario and Elena (Resse) DeAngelis. Marie had been employed by St. Mary?s Hospital for over 25 years. She graduated Southington High School in 1966 and was liked by all fortunate to meet her. She is especially well known as a tremendous athlete. She excelled in softball and bowling in Southington and also found time to play softball in two Waterbury leagues and a golf league. Marie participated in one of the first softball leagues in Southington playing on a team that included all four DeAngelis sisters, with Marie anchoring the team, of course. She was an avid New York Yankee Fan. In addition to working at St. Mary?s Hospital she also worked at Paisanos Restaurant in Waterbury and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving family, a brother Bobby DeAngelis and Laurie McIntyre, and 3 sisters; Nina and husband Jim Brennan, Karen DeAngelis and Jim Sheppard, Christine DeAngelis, and Marie?s very close friend Charlotte, 2 nephews; Patrick and Brian Brennan, her aunt Elsie Galliette and her uncle Pat Meccariello and many loving cousins.

Family and friends may call at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

A private Memorial Mass and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
