

Mark A. Hubeny, 56, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2013. He was born in Southington on Nov. 11, 1956 to Priscilla (Nyren) Hubeny and the late Richard Hubeny. Mark was a man of great integrity and lived his life loving his family, valuing friendships and leading his life as a fine example for others to follow. Mark was a veteran of the Army National Guard, 2nd battalion, 102nd infantry. He was a former partner at Eagle Crane and Conveyor and was currently employed at Southington Metal and Fabricators.
Besides his Mom, he is survived by two cherished sons, Justin and Alex Hubeny, who consider him their best friend, his loving partner Patty Smolinski, and her two children, Victoria and Daniel, whom he loved as his own; his brothers and their wives Richard and Amy, Stephen and Linda, David and Lori, Kevin, Michael and Donna; sisters Sandra and husband Eric, Sharon and husband Chris; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Michael and Judy Giusto, Sandra and Anthony Nigro, and his godmother and aunt Gert Bafuma. He was predeceased by his wife Karen. He also leaves behind many beautiful nieces and nephews, special cousins and several lifelong friends. Mark?s legacy is the love he gave freely to those around him, the smiles he gave freely to all those he cared about, and the ability to make those around him happier just by being with them. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 28 at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial with military honors will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 27 from 4-8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
