Melody (Izzo) Becher

Born in Torrington on April 27, 1963, she was the daughter of Patricia (Adam) Izzo of Thomaston and the late Angelo Izzo. She graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1981. She was formerly employed at Bank of Boston, and was an office manager at several local doctor’s offices.

Melody’s first priority was being a Mom. She homeschooled her children and was a past president of the CT Homeschoolers Association. She was the local contact for Stand For Children, an American education advocacy group founded in 1996.

Besides her husband Erwin and mother Patricia, Melody leaves her two daughters Jillian and Jessica Becher both of Waterbury, her son Josef Becher of Wolcott, sisters Angela Izzo of Burlington, VT, Sarah Izzo and her daughter Cortnie Waters of Thomaston, brothers Louis Izzo of Waterbury and Dennis Izzo of Watertown and her mother-in-law Marianne Becher of Wolcott.

Calling hours are Friday January 18th from 5 to 8 PM at The DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. There will be a Funeral Mass on her birthday Saturday April 27th at St. Maria Goretti Church at a hour to be announced.
