He was born in Waterbury on Dec. 29, 1943 the son of the late Michael F. and Florence (Tedesco) Giannelli. He received his Masters from CCSU . He was the CEO for H&B Tool and Engineering.
He coached baseball and football for both Southington Jr. High Schools and also coached Football under Coach D'Angelo for Southington High School's Blue Knights in 1972 when they were C.V.C champs. He enjoyed being with his family in Narragansett RI.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his four children, Michael J. Giannelli and his wife Julie of Andover, Kara Giammatteo and her husband Timothy of Bristol, Jason Giannelli and his wife Meghan of East Greenwich, RI and Kyla Giannelli of South Boston, cherished grandchildren, Kaylie, Kelsey, Kassie Giammatteo, Emma ,Sage, Gavin, Sean and Logan Giannelli. He also leaves a sister Marilyn Pruchnicki of Naugatuck, a niece and several nephews.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 9:15am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 am. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Jimmy Fund c/o Dana Farber, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168. The children were always filled with the joy of life in spite of their serious illness.
